COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Ron Vanderlinden and the Maryland Terrapins put a cap on the regular season this Saturday by hosting Georgia Tech at noon at Byrd Stadium.
Terrapin fans can help "cap" the season by arriving early and receiving one of 5,000 official Terrapin hats to be given away courtesy of Nationwide Insurance. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive one of the red, baseball-style caps.
Maryland, 5-5 entering its home finale, needs one win to become eligible for its first postseason bowl since 1990. It was in the Terps' last home game that Maryland fans erupted into a postgame frenzy following a double-overtime win over NC State.
Also of note in Saturday's game is the final Byrd Stadium appearance by Terrapin seniors. Among them is senior tailback LaMont Jordan who has run for 100 yards in 10 of his last 13 games at Byrd.
