Maryland Football Coaches Clinic Slated For Saturday, March 11

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland football program will host its annual coaches' clinic Saturday, March 11. The entire Maryland coaching staff will be on hand to discuss the fundamentals and techniques of their positions. In addition, offensive coordinator Bob Heffner will discuss Maryland's speed option, and defensive coordinator Wally Ake will discuss the Terps' top zone blitzes.
The featured speaker will be Baltimore Ravens defensive coach Rex Ryan. Ryan helped the Ravens to a No. 2 overall defensive ranking in 1999.
A high school coaches' forum will feature the following coaches detailing their favorite plays: Chris Baucia of DeMatha, Terry Changuris of Seneca Valley, Rick Houchens of Eleanor Roosevelt, and Craig Jefferies of Dunbar. Also included in the clinic is a Terrapins practice and a social.
The clinic will be held in Van Munching Hall and costs $10 per coach. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The clinic is open to all high school, junior high, and youth league coaches.
