COLLEGE PARK, Md. - * The Cavs and Tar Heels played the first double-overtime game in ACC Tournament history. It was just the second overtime game overall --- and the first since Maryland defeated Virginia, 9-8, in a 1993 semifinal (also in College Park).

* The 33 combined goals scored were the most in ACC Tournament history, eclipsing a 32-goal semifinal game between Virginia (19) and Duke (13) in 1994.

* Virginia advances to the ACC title game for the fifth consecutive season.

* Virginia's 17 goals were the most by a team in an ACC Tournament game since the Cavs won another Virginia-UNC battle, 17-13, in a 1997 semifinal.

* UVa was two groundballs (76) and one faceoff (23) shy of ACC Tournament records in those categories (78 and 24, respectively).

* UNC freshman Austin Garrison finished one goal shy of the matching the individual record for goals in an ACC Tournament game. The record is 6. Garrison had just eight goals for the season, entering the game.

* North Carolina's 16 goals were the most scored by the Tar Heels all season.
