RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Deedee Warley scored seven of Maryland's final eight points and finished with 17 as the Terrapins beat No. 22 North Carolina State 57-56 Thursday night.

Maryland, which trailed by 12 points with 7 minutes remaining, seized the lead with a 15-2 run, capped by a free throw by Warley with 1:57 remaining.

After Tynesha Lewis' basket gave the Wolfpack the lead, Warley answered with consecutive baskets to give Maryland a 56-53 advantage with 52.7 left.

N.C. State missed three of four free throws in the final 7.4 seconds. The Wolfpack's Ivy Gardner rebounded the last miss with 5.6 seconds left and passed to Adeola Olanrewaju, who lost control of the ball as the horn sounded.

Marche Strickland added 12 points, Renneika Razor 11 and Rosita Melbourne 10 for the Terrapins (13-6, 4-4 Atlantic Coast Conference). Carrise Moody scored 14 points and Lewis 12 for the Wolfpack (11-8, 2-6), who have lost four straight games for the first time since the 1985-86 season.

The Terrapins shot 50 percent from the field and forced 21 N.C. State turnovers en route to their third consecutive victory.

The Wolfpack, which shot 46.8 percent, outrebounded Maryland 34-21.
