SCARSDALE, N.Y. - Junior John Moheyer (Lima, Ohio) shot par 70 during a blustery first round on Monday afternoon and senior Corey Brigham (Rumson, N.J.) was one-over par to lead Maryland to a third-place tie after 18 holes at The Tillinghast Intercollegiate at Quaker Ridge Golf Club.
Moheyer was tied for fourth place individually, and Brigham tied for seventh, entering today's final round.
Trailing Illinois and Minnesota, the Terps are tied with Penn State and Northwestern as the tournament's first round concluded early on Tuesday morning. Play was suspended late on Monday due to darkness and weather conditions.
As the second round continued on Tuesday, the Maryland lineup included sophomore Tim Kane (Simsbury, Conn.) at 7-over par 77, senior Pete Toole (Lancaster, Pa.) at 8-over par 78, and freshman Bobby MacWhinnie (Pittsburgh, Pa.) at 11-over par 81.
