* Junior Mike Prada (Fulton, Md.) , sophomore Francis Ciganek (Chestertown, Md.) and freshman Matt Adami (Mount Airy, Md.) will represent the University of Maryland men's cross country team at the Mid Atlantic regional meet Saturday, Nov. 7.
* The meet will be held at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., beginning at 12:15 p.m.
* Division I men will be running a 10K course rather than an 8K.
WOMEN IMPROVE ACC CONFERENCE FINISH
* Senior Monique Berry (Andover, Conn.) led the Maryland women's cross country team to an eighth place finish over host Clemson at the ACC Championships Saturday, Oct. 27. The meet marks the Terrapins' highest conference championship finish since 1998.
* Berry completed the 6K course in 24:02.5. Sophomore Lorna Dorland (Rockland, Maine) and junior Kristin Lubas (York, Pa.) finished next for Maryland with times of 24:04.4 and 24:09.1, respectively.
* For the Maryland men, freshman Matt Adami stepped up for the Terps and led the team to a ninth place finish by completing the 8,000 meter course in 26:33.5. Junior Mike Prada finished next for Maryland, completing the course in 26:39.0.
TEAM LEADERS
* Matt Adami, Francis Ciganek and Mike Prada have been key to the performance of the men's cross country team this season.
* Prada has been a leader on the team for the past three years, finishing as the highest-placing Terrapin in Maryland's first three meets of the season.
* Ciganek has also been a top competitor for the Terps. In three meets this season, Ciganek improved upon his times from comparable meets during the 2000 season.
* The top runner in the freshman class, Adami should prove to be an anchor of future Maryland distance teams. At the ACC Championships on Oct. 29, Adami became the only freshman this season to finish as the Terps' top runner. His time of 26:33.5 in the 8K race at the conference championships was also his season-low.
