COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Former Maryland football standouts LaMont Jordan, Kris Jenkins and Shawn Forte will all be participating in the annual NFL scouting combine at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis this weekend. The event begins Thursday with the arrival of kickers and offensive linemen and is slated to wind up Saturday afternoon.
The trio of Terrapins, all of whom completed their collegiate careers this past season, are among the more than 300 players invited to this weekend's workouts.
Jordan, the Terps' career rushing leader, is one of 28 running backs invited to the combine. Jenkins is one of 55 defensive linemen and Forte one of 61 defensive backs. Jenkins last season totaled 17 tackles for losses - including a career-best eight sacks - among his 62 total stops. Forte was the Terps' fourth-leading tackler with 82 stops and led Maryland with four interceptions.
The annual NFL draft is slated for April 21-22.
