COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland football team continued fall practice today as it practiced in half pads in the morning before a workout in full pads from 5:15 - 7:30 p.m. Below are notes from the team's seventh day of fall practice, August 17, 2001:
Zingin' in the Rain
After completing most of its evening session in good weather, the Terps concluded their day in a downpour and some of their most productive offensive moments occurred then. Soon after the rain came, the Terrapin offense worked in a two-minute setting and marched straight down the field with crisp passing only to have an apparent touchdown pass to WR Maurice Shanks ruled incomplete.
Fan Day Information
Maryland Football Fan Day will take place on Saturday, August 25th at the football practice fields. The day will include a 3:30 p.m. practice, a 5:00 p.m. scrimmage and an autograph session for fans at approximately 5:45 p.m. (Fan Day is the lone practice session of the fall where fans are not required to call in advance.) Check back in to umterps.com for more on Fan Day in coming days.
First Scrimmage Tomorrow
