COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
University of Maryland worked out for about two hours Sunday afternoon,
the squad's first practice session since Saturday's scrimmage. The Terps
practiced just once on Sunday, but will return to two-a-day sessions on
Monday (8 a.m., 5:15 p.m.).
CRABFEAST
First-year head coach Ralph Friedgen quickly made his way from the
practice field to Martin's Crosswinds Sunday afternoon to address
Terrapin Club members who gathered for the club's annual preseason
crabfeast. Friedgen introduced his coaching staff to the TC members,
then gave a rousing pep talk on the state of the Terrapin football
program. He implored the members to help fill Byrd Stadium for the
season opener vs. North Carolina on Saturday, Sept. 1.

FAN DAY SLATED FOR THIS SATURDAY
Terrapin fans can meet and greet members of the 2001 Maryland football
team following Saturday's scrimmage, which gets underway at 3:30 p.m.
This year's Terrapin squad will be on hand to sign autographs, beginning
at approximately 5:45 p.m.
22 TERPS ON NFL ROSTERS
As National Football League training camps continue apace in
preparation for the 2001 season which gets underway in early September,
University of Maryland's connection to the NFL continues to grow.
Current rosters as of Aug. 19 show a total of 22 former Terrapins,
including recent second-round 2001 draft choices LaMont Jordan (New York
Jets) and Kris Jenkins (Carolina Panthers).
Quarterback Neil O'Donnell (Tennessee Titans), a third-round NFL
draft choice in 1990, is the former Terp with the most years of NFL
service among active players.
