* The current Terps have enjoyed immense success against the Wolfpack, outscoring NC State 10-0 since the arrival of senior tri-captain Beckett Hollenbach (Havertown, Pa.) and redshirt-junior Kevin Schmidt's (Westfield, N.J.) class in 1998.
* Last year against the Pack: Abe Thompson (Fairfax Station, Va.) scored twice to lead the Terps' offense to a 5-0 win over the Wolfpack at Method Road Soccer Complex. For a complete game recap, check out page 3 of this release.

Looking at NC State
* Wolfpack looking for its first win. Head Coach George Tarantini and the NC State Wolfpack enter Sunday's match-up with an 0-4 record after losses to Northeastern (Sept. 1, 0-2), Massachusetts (Sept. 2, 1-2), South Florida (Sept. 7, 1-2 2OT), and Richmond (Sept. 8, 1-3).
* NC State is led in the stat column by three members of the Wolfpack. Lee Baldwin, Chiedu Chukwumah, and Michael Karim all have one goal a piece in the Pack's first four games. Isreal Mejia has NC State's only assist of the year.
* Head Coach George Tarantini. In his 16th season with the Wolfpack and has a 153-105-29 lifetime record. In battles with Terrapins' bench boss Sasho Cirovski since his arrival at Maryland in 1993, Cirovski owns the 6-2-1 advantage.
Sumed ibrahim scores first career hat trick
* Redshirt sophomore Sumed Ibrahim (Tamale, Ghana) became the second current Terp to score a hat trick when he netted three goals in Maryland's 5-1 victory over American in the Maryland/FILA Classic on Sept. 9. Abe Thompson is the only other Terrapin on the roster to score three goals in a game. Thompson did it against Monmouth last season in Maryland's 5-1 victory over the Hawks on Oct. 4. Sumed is also the Terps' leading scorer entering the NC State game with three goals and three assists for nine points. That's already more than double the amount of points he posted during his freshman campaign two years ago when he finished the season with one goal and two assists.
