The Maryland men's lacrosse team has been picked No. 5 in the preseason rankings by Lacrosse Magazine. The Terps, coming off a 13-3 record and an NCAA quarterfinal apperance, are ranked No. 6 in the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Magazine preseason coaches' poll.
Maryland faces eight teams ranked in the Lacrosse Magazine preseason poll: No. 3 Towson, No. 4 Johns Hopkins, No. 6 Virginia, No. 8 Duke, No. 12 North Carolina, No. 14 Navy, No. 18 UMBC, and No. 19 Bucknell.
Junior defenseman Michael Howley (Wantagh, N.Y.) has also been named a preseason All-American by Lacrosse Magazine, which selected just one team.
