The ninth-ranked Maryland Terrapins, spending their sixth week in the NSCAA's Top 10, travel around the Washington Beltway to Fairfax, Va., to meet George Mason on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. The game is a head-to-head match-up of South Atlantic region members, and marks the first time the two schools have met at Mason under the new lights at George Mason Stadium.
All-Time Series vs. George Mason
Throughout Maryland's history, the Terps have met 96 different opponents. George Mason is one of only 18 opponents to hold a series advantage on the Terps, and one of only eight who has met Maryland five or more times and still holds a lead. That could all change this weekend at George Mason Stadium when the Terps get another chance to tie up the series with the Patriots that now stands at 4-5-1. In the series which began in 1986, George Mason won last year's meeting 1-0 at Ludwig Field, with Maryland winning four of the last five. Maryland is 4-2 against the Patriots under head coach Sasho Cirovski.

Current Terps vs. George Mason
Two current Terrapins have scored points against the Patriots during their careers: Abe Thompson (Fairfax Station, Va.) and Seth Stammler (Gahanna, Ohio). In the Terps' 1998 4-0 shutout of the Patriots, Thompson scored twice with Stammler tallying one goal.
Terps Ranked Ninth by NSCAA
Maryland rose as high as No. 4 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll three weeks ago, but fell back to No. 6 with their 3-0 loss to then-No. 8 Wake Forest on Sept. 27. Maryland's two-goal loss at UCONN this past weekend has the Terps at 10-3 and ranked ninth this week. The Terps have spent the last five weeks in the poll's Top 10. Four of Maryland's opponents this season are ranked in the current poll.
