Maryland's Buete Men's Soccer ACC Co-Player Of The Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - - Terrapin redshirt-junior Scott Buete (Bowie, MD.) picked up two honors this week for his game-winning goal against No. 6 Clemson on Saturday at Ludwig Field. Buete was named co-ACC player of the week as well as being picked to the College Soccer News Team of the Week honors. Maryland's Buete shared ACC honors with North Carolina's Ryan Kneipper after leading their respective teams this past week.

Buete redirected the game-winning goal to lift the Terps over No. 6 Clemson 1-0. The native of Bowie, Md., recorded his second goal of the season with 4:17 remaining in the game. He now has 10 points this season off two goals and six assists. With the victory, Maryland improves to 12-3 overall, including a 4-1 league mark, its best start since 1971.

Kneipper, a senior forward, recorded three goals and one assist as the Tar Heels defeated George Mason 2-0 and tied No. 2 Wake Forest 2-2. Against the Deacs, the Dallas, Texas, native had a part in both Tar Heel goals, tallying one goal and one assist. North Carolina is currently 10-5-1, with a 2-2-1 league mark.

The No. 6 Terps meet No. 13 Virginia at Klockner Stadium on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. in their final ACC match of the season. The ACC tournament begins on Nov. 14 at SAS Stadium in Cary, N.C.
