Honorable mention All-American Nate Watkins (Elmira, N.Y.) was selected by the Rochester Rattlers in the 2002 Major League Lacrosse draft held Saturday, June 1 in Lowell, Mass. Watkins was drafted following the 2002 Major League Lacrosse Challenge held at Cawley Stadium.
Watkins had a breakout season with the Terps as a senior in 2002, scoring 24 goals and adding seven assists for a career-best 31 points earning him honorable mention All-American status. Watkins netted a career-high six goals vs. Yale in the home finale on April 26 at Byrd Stadium.
With Rochester, Watkins joins former Terps' goalie Brian Dougherty and defenseman Casey Connor, whom he played with in 1999 and 2000 in College Park.
