Howley One Of 11 New York Products On U.S. Men's Lacrosse World Team

BALTIMORE - Eleven natives of New York including Terp All-American defenseman Michael Howley will lead the 2002 U.S. Men's Lacrosse Team against the best teams in the world in the International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) World Championship, July 5-15 in Perth, Australia. The U.S. is the five-time defending champion, and has won seven of eight ILF tournaments.

With nine collegians on the roster, the U.S. is fielding its youngest team ever in ILF play. The U.S. team is in the midst of a six-game stateside exhibition schedule. It will play its fourth and final East Coast exhibition Saturday in Philadelphia before departing for two exhibitions and camp in California.
