Maryland men's lacrosse seniors Brian Carroll (Far Rockaway, N.Y.) and Nate Watkins (Elmira, N.Y.) have been selected to the play in the USILA North-South All-Star Game, which will take place on Saturday, June 8 at Johns Hopkins' Homewood Field at 3 p.m. Both players will suit up for the South Team coached by Air Force's Fred Acee and UMBC's Don Zimmerman.
Carroll finished his senior season strong, placing seventh in the nation among all face-off specialists in win percentage (62.1). His mark was the best among all seniors in the country. Carroll won 159 of 256 draws in his fourth and final year with the Terps. He concluded his senior season on fire winning more than 75 percent of his face-off over the last three games.
Watkins had his best senior as a senior and was named on honorable mention All-American by the USILA after scoring a career-best 24 goals and adding seven assists for 31 points. He netted a single-game bst six goals in the home finale against Yale on April 26. Watkins was drafted by the MLL's Rochester Rattlers in the fourth round of the college draft on Saturday, June 1.
