COLLEGE PARK, MD. - Maryland's men's soccer team will take on DC United in an exhibition game on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Ludwig Field. The contest will kick-off a two-game exhibition slate for the Terps before they open regular season action at the Virginia Soccer Classic on August 30 and Sept. 1 in Charlottesville, Va.
"The opportunity to play DC United on our home field is a valuable one for this team's growth and an exciting one for the Maryland soccer community," said head coach Sasho Cirovski. "Our field has undergone some offseason changes that I think will bring the fans closer to the action and we're excited for them to experience that at the DC United game."
Maryland's Ludwig Field has added over 1,000 seats just feet from the touchline to bring fans closer to the Terrapin soccer action. The new seating, which includes individually-backed chairs for fans, will be ready for the DC United exhibition game.
Ticket prices for the game are $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Maryland continues its exhibition schedule on Friday, August 23 at Columbus Crew Stadium against Ohio State. The Terps open their regular season home schedule on Sept. 6 and 8 when they host the Maryland/FILA Classic. Virginia, Penn State and Virginia Commonwealth round-out the tournament field. Games begin at 5 p.m. on the 6th with Virginia and VCU squaring-off and Penn State and Maryland rounding out action at 7:30 p.m.
