COLLEGE PARK, Md. - As the first week of practice approaches for the University of Maryland football team and the season opener against Notre Dame is less than a month away, season and single game tickets remain* for the Terrapins' seven home games.
Tickets are available for purchase through the Terrapin Ticket Office (800-462-TERP) and online through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com).
Ralph Friedgen and his defending Atlantic Coast Conference champion Terps crank up fall camp on Saturday as the varsity reports for its first full practice that day. Maryland has already drawn the attention of the pollsters as it was picked on Thursday as the 20th-ranked team in the nation by the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' poll. As the nation awaits its first look at the 2002 Terrapins, Fridge Fever continues to sweep through the Mid-Atlantic region as witnessed by the billboard shown on this page, which stands on Route 29 in Northern Virginia.
(*Single-game ticket sales for the Terps' Sept. 14 game versus Florida State have been halted, but fans interested in attending that game can still do so by purchasing season tickets. For the FSU game, any seats not sold on a season-ticket basis by Monday, Sept. 9 will be made available for purchase as single-game tickets.)
