The Maryland/Wake Forest Series
The Terrapins have a 40-11 advantage in the all-time series with Wake Forest, and took two of three from the Deacs last year. Maryland eliminated the Demons Deacons from the ACC tournamemnt last season, ending Wake's season in the first round of the conference tourney by a 72-66 margin. In the first two meetings last season, the home team was victorious in each, with Maryland taking down the Deacs 57-46 at Cole Field House and Wake Forest winning 65-47 in the Lawrence Joel Coliseum Annex, the site of this year's game as well. Maryland is 6-4 in its last 10 meetings with Wake Forest. Senior Renneika Razor (New York, N.Y.) leads the returning Terps' charge, averaging 8.9 ppg vs. Wake Forest during her career.
Razor Climbs Maryland All-Time Lists
Senior Renneika Razor continues to climb the career charts for steals, averaging 3.8 per game this season. That mark is currently second in the conference only to returning ACC Player of the Year Alana Beard from Duke. Razor has tied her career-high of seven steals twice this season, once against Georgia Tech (1/5) and once against Miami (12/29) and is currently seventh on Maryland's all-time list in that category with 210. A complete list of Maryland's all-time steals leader in on page two of this release. Razor's total of 215 also stands just 24 steals away from cracking the ACC's Top 25 all-time.
Additionally, Razor is on pace to become the 20th player in Maryland history to break the 1,000 point plateau. The senior guard currently has 953 career points, including 225 this season, leaving her 47 points from the career milestone. Razor also has over 500 career rebounds, grabbing 514 to date this year, and needs 67 more to crack the Top 15 all-time for that Maryland list.

Oliver Bursts on the Scene
2002 AP National Coach of the Year Brenda Frese added her first recruit to the Terrapin roster this summer in 6-3 junior college transfer Delvona Oliver (Euclid, Ohio). Oliver, a center from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, has now met all of her requirements and was eligible for the first time this season for the Gatorade Holiday Classic. She wasted no time making the impact her coaches said she would, averaging 15.8 ppg in her first five outings, narrowly missing a double-double against Cleveland State with 16 points and nine rebounds and again at NC State with 19 points and nine rebounds. Oliver earned all-tournament recognition for her tournament performance at Miami. She is now posting 17.0 points per game in ACC play and grabbing a team-high 7.7 rebounds per game.
Oliver earned second-team All-America recognition from the National Junior College Athletic Association and averaged 18.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game in the 2000-01 season. She earned most valuable player honors at the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference postseason tournament.
