COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland senior punter Brooks Barnard will be playing in today's 54th Annual Senior Bowl at 2:00 p.m. EST from Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. The game features a good majority of the nation's top draft-eligible seniors, showcasing their skills for NFL scouts.
Barnard, the Terrapins' career leader in punting average, will take on a bit of a new role today as he will serve as the punter and placekicker for the North squad. The Arnold, Md., native handled some kickoff duties in 2002, but never attempted a field goal in his Maryland career.
A four-year starter, Barnard was a first team All-ACC selection in 2001 and 2002 and placed in the top 12 of the national rankings for punting average in each of his final three years as a Terp.
The game will be televised live on ESPN.
