COLLEGE PARK, Md. - As of 11:25 a.m., only 600 tickets remain for tonight's nationally-televised matchup between the University of Maryland football team and its nearest regional rival, Virginia. Kickoff for the game at Byrd Stadium is slated for 7:45 p.m. and action will be carried live by ESPN.
The Terrapin Ticket Office has announced that it has sold all of its allotted 11,000 student tickets for tonight's contest. One other important note for fans: the ticket office at Comcast Center will close and stop selling tickets at 4:30 p.m. today while tickets will begin being sold at Byrd Stadium at 4:30 as well.
With tonight's attendance being over the 50,000 mark, Maryland will set a six-game home attendance record. The school has never had more than three games in any home slate hit the 50,000 mark for attendance while this season will have had all six games have an attendance figure of 50,000 or more.
One other scheduling note, ABC has declared a six-day option on the games of Nov. 22 and will be holding two games for its 3:30 p.m. window. The Maryland game at NC State is one of those games meaning there will be no announcement regarding a game time until Monday, Nov. 17th. At that time, it will be determined whether the Terrapins will be playing at 3:30 p.m. on ABC or at Noon on Jefferson Pilot (Comcast SportsNet locally).
