Last Time Out
* Maryland come out of the starting gates with a 2-0 record for the fourth-straight year, after sweeping the season-opening weekend. The Terps won their fifth-straight season opening game, easily defeating Coppin State 79-64, and followed up with an 84-74 win over Niagara.
* Led by 25 points from freshman Shay Doron, the Terps cruised to a 79-64 triumph over Coppin State to open the 2003-04 season. Maryland shot almost 82 percent from the charity stripe to runaway with the win. Fellow freshman Kalika France also had a standout performance in her official collegiate debut, grabbing 10 rebounds to go along with eight points.

The first half saw the Terps shooting at a 53.3 clip, ending the game shooting 49.2 percent.
Terrapin Classic History
* Maryland hosted the first Terrapin Classic during the 1998-99 season and has hosted the event every year except for the 2000-01 campaign. The Terps defeated Richmond the first year, then won the next two titles before suffering their first lost in the tournament last year in the championship game. Rhode Island is the only other team to win the Terrapin Classic.
About Sacred Heart
* In his 14th season, Ed Swanson led the Pioneers to an 18-10 overall record and a 12-6 Northeast Conference mark, tying for third in the conference. SHU returns seven letterwinners including senior starters Ashley Kohl and Kate Maher. Sophomore Nicolle Rubino also returns to the squad. Last year's NEC Rookie of the Year, she led Sacred Heart to a 61-46 win over UMass in its season opener, scoring a team-high 14 points.

* This weekend's matchup will be the first between the team. Maryland head coach Brenda Frese is 1-0 against Northeast Conference teams, defeating UMBC last year, 56-38. ACC teams are 20-0 against NEC in the last five years.
About Louisiana Lafayette
* In his second season as head coach, J. Kelley Hall led the Ragin' Cajuns to an 8-19 record and an 11th-place showing in the Sun Belt with a 4-11 mark last year. ULL lost every starter but senior Sharee Glenn and welcome five newcomers to the team. Glenn was second on the team with 9.9 ppg last year, starting in 25 of 26 games played.

Who's Not

A 5-8 guard, she led the team with 16.1 ppg and 5.7 rpg, en route to second team All-ACC honors. Fellow freshman Aurelie Noirez crossed the Atlantic Ocean to get to College Park. A native of Vandoeuvre, France, she was a member of the French Junior National Team.
* The fifth newcomer to the team brings plenty of experience with her. A junior transfer, Alli Spence played two seasons at Old Dominion University and was named Colonial Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in 2000.
