The ACC offices released Monday the tournament brackets for the 2003 ACC men's soccer tournament, to be held Nov. 12-16 at SAS Stadium in Cary, N.C.
No. 2 Maryland is the top seed, after defeating Virginia 1-0 on Friday to wrap up the regular season conference championship for the first time since 1971. The Terps have a bye in the first round and will take on the winner of the North Carolina vs. NC State game on Friday, Nov. 14 at 5:30 p.m.
Tournament action opens with No. 4 North Carolina facing off against No. 5 NC State at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Following that contest, No. 2 Wake Forest will take on No. 7 Duke at 5:30 p.m. and No. 3 Virginia will battle No. 6 Clemson at 8:00 p.m.
Last year, Maryland captured its first ACC men's soccer championship since 1996 when it downed Virginia 3-0.
