COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland football players Bruce Perry and Madieu Williams were each named Atlantic Coast Conference Players of the Week for their play in last weekend's 41-28 win at Wake Forest. It was the first time this season that each player has earned the honor as Perry was the ACC's Co-Offensive Back of the Week and Williams was the league's Defensive Back of the Week.
Perry shared the honor with Virginia quarterback Matt Schaub who completed 32 of 46 passes for 358 yards and two touchdowns as the Cavaliers posted a 35-21 win over 20th-ranked Virginia Tech. In Maryland's win, Perry ran for a season-high 237 yards on 25 carries as the Terps clinched second place in the ACC with a 41-28 win at Wake Forest. Perry accounted for 20 points with touchdown runs of two, 49 and 80 yards and a two-point conversion.
Williams led the Terrapins defense with a career-high 14 total tackles (eight unassisted) in Saturday's 41-28 win over Wake Forest. The win was the ninth in the last 10 games for Maryland and clinched second place in the ACC outright for the 24th-ranked Terps. The 6-1, 193-pound senior had the interception that turned the tide in the game as he picked off a Demon Deacon pass at the Wake Forest 28 yard line on a drive that followed a Terp touchdown that brought the team to within one point at 21-20.
Below are the other players of the week for the last regular season weekend of play in the ACC:
OFFENSIVE LINE
In earning the award for the second straight week, and third time this season, Virginia All-ACC tight end Heath Miller caught 13 passes for 145 yards (both career highs) in the Cavaliers' 35-21 win over 20th-ranked Virginia Tech. A 6-5, 254-pound sophomore, 10 of Miller's 13 receptions went for first downs, including one on a fake field goal that led to Virginia's final touchdown in the fourth quarter. Miller set the Conference record for tight ends with 66 catches for 751 yards this season.
DEFENSIVE LINE
Florida State's Darnell Dockett (Burtonsville, Md.) recorded seven tackles, including one for a loss, in the Seminoles' 38-34 win over 11th-ranked Florida Saturday. Voted the 2003 ACC Defensive Player of the Year by the Atlantic Coast Conference Sports Media Association, the 6-4, 280-pound senior also forced one Florida fumble and had two quarterback hurries as Florida State defeated the Gators for the fifth time in six years.

Washington also rushed 15 times for a team-high 65 yards, including a long run of 18 yards.
ROOKIE
Virginia freshman linebacker Kai Parham turned in one of the best performances of his young career in Saturday's 35-21 win over 20th-ranked Virginia Tech.
