Maryland Men's Lacrosse Ranked No. 5 In Preseason Face-Off Coaches' Poll

TOWSON, Md. - Coming off a trip to the NCAA semifinals, the Maryland men's lacrosse team is ranked No. 5 in the Preseason Face-Off Magazine Coaches' Poll conducted by Inside Lacrosse. The poll surveyed all 53 Division I men's lacrosse coaches.

Maryland, which went 12-4 last season, was also ranked No. 5 in last season's preseason poll. The Terps will take on six of the top 10 teams: No. 1 Virginia (April 3), No. 2 Johns Hopkins (April 17), No. 6 Georgetown (Feb. 28), No. 8 North Carolina (March 27), No. 9 Duke (March 6), No. 10 Towson (March 13) and 10 of the overall top 25 with No. 16 Notre Dame (May 1), No. 18 Navy (April 10), No. 19 UMBC (March 20) and No. 23 Bucknell (March 16) also on the schedule.

The Terps will also face No. 3 Syracuse (Feb. 21) and No. 4 Princeton (Fe.b 14) in preseason scrimmages.

Maryland will be led by its pair of preseason first-team All-American defenseman, Chris Passavia and Lee Zink. Both Passavia (second team) and Zink (third team) were USILA All-Americans last season. The Terps also feature two preseason Honorable Mention All-Americans in attacker Joe Walters and midfielder Justin Smith.
