COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland football team has postponed the start of spring football practice until further notice due to recent weather conditions in the Mid-Atlantic and their effect on the playing and practice fields on the Maryland campus.
The originally scheduled start date for spring ball was February 23rd.
The Terrapins are coming off of a season that saw it tie the school record for wins with 11 and win its first bowl game since 1985 when it handed Tennessee a 30-3 drubbing in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Expectations for 2003 are high as well considering the Terps return six offensive and nine defensive starters as well as prominent "non-starters" such as 2001 Doak Walker finalist Bruce Perry and standout wide receiver Jafar Williams.
