COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The preseason No. 5 Maryland men's lacrosse team will face the stiffest test possible in its two-game preseason scrimmage schedule as the Terps play the top two teams in the nation over the next two weeks.
The Terps will take on No. 2 Princeton this Saturday afternoon, Feb. 8, at 1 p.m. in the first of two scrimmages. That scrimmage will take place at the Artificial Turf Facility at Maryland. The field duels as the football turf practice field and the field hockey game field. It is located behind the baseball stadium, Shipley Field off of Field House Drive.
For their second preseason game, the Terps will travel to Syracuse to take on the No.1 and defending national champion Orangemen on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 11 a.m. at the Carrier Dome. Please note this new date and new time from original schedules. The game is set for this time as the Carrier Dome was not available later in the week due to other events.
The Terps have been practicing since Jan. 20 and are primed for their second season under coach Dave Cottle with an eye on returning to the NCAA Tournament.
The regular-season opener is set for Saturday, Feb. 22 as Maryland takes on No. 6 Georgetown. That game is tentatively scheduled for the Artificial Turf Facility.
