Terrapins Release 2003 Spring Soccer Schedule

March 11, 2003

COLLEGE PARK, MD. - The 2002 ACC champion University of Maryland men's soccer team has announced its spring schedule for the 2003 season. The slate features doubleheader days, local and conference rivals, and the return of familiar faces from the coaching and playing past.

Maryland opens it's spring schedule with their only road game at the Richmond Kickers on Saturday, March 15 (split squad), at 2:45 and 5 p.m. On Monday, March 17, the Terrapins will face-off against a familiar face when former assistant coach Jeff Rohrman brings his Wisconsin Badger team to Ludwig Field for a 7 p.m. tilt.

The Terps next host George Washington and Old Dominion on Saturday, April 5, at Ludwig Field. Maryland plays the Colonels at 11:30 a.m. and meets the Monarchs at 2 p.m. to end the doubleheader day.

Two weeks later, the ACC comes to town as the Terps host interstate rival Virginia on Saturday, April 19, at noon and follow it up with a 2 p.m. tilt vs. the Wolfpack of NC State. Towson rounds-out the intercollegiate part of the schedule on Wednesday, April 23, at 7 p.m.

The Terps welcome their alumni back on Sunday, April 27, for a 11 a.m. alumni game at Ludwig Field to finish the spring slate. Every spring game is planned to be played at Ludwig Field, except for the Richmond Kickers game, which will be held in Richmond.

Last fall, the Terrapins completed one of their best seasons in school history, finishing with a program-record 20 wins, the team's first ACC championship since 1996 and a trip to the Final Four for the first time since 1998.
