GREENSBORO, N.C. -
The Maryland men's lacrosse team will be seeded No. 1 in the 2003 ACC Men's Lacrosse Championships and will face No. 4 seed Duke this Friday, April 18, in the first of two semifinal games Charlottesville, Va. The Maryland-Duke game will face-off at 6 p.m. and will be followed by the No. 2 Virginia-No. 3 North Carolina game, which will start at approximately 8:30 p.m.
The seedings of Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina were determined by a blind draw held at the ACC offices in Greensboro as all three teams finished the conference schedule 2-1. Duke was 0-3 in the league and thus is seeded fourth.
Maryland returns to the site of its last ACC Championship, as they beat Virginia on its home field, 14-11 in 1998.
The championship game between the semifinal winners will take place on Sunday, April 20 at 3 p.m. and be broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet, Fox SportsSouth and the Sunshine Network. Former Maryland coach Dick Edell will handle the broadcast along with ACC Live host Mike Hogewood.
