Wrestling Reaches Top 25 All-Academic List

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland wrestling team, under the leadership of head coach John McHugh, excelled both on and off the mats this year. The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced its 2003 Division I Top 25 All-Academic wrestling teams this week, and the Terps received the honor of a No. 19 ranking.
Sacred Heart captured team honors for the second year in a row, possessing a team GPA of 3.412. Duquesne finished second with a 3.332 and Central Michigan finished third with a 3.285 to round out this year's top three teams. Teams are ranked by taking the average GPA of each team's starting ten wrestlers along with two backups that competed in at least one varsity match.
