BALTIMORE, Md. - In Saturday's second semifinal, second-seeded Virginia defeated third-seeded Maryland 14-4 to advance to Monday's championship game against Johns Hopkins University.

In the first semifinal game, top-seeded Johns Hopkins defeated Syracuse 19-8. Leading 7-5 late in the second quarter, the Orangemen were held scoreless for more than 30 minutes, as the Blue Jays ran off 14 consecutive goals to advance to Monday's championship game against Virginia.
Hopkins (14-1), who will play in their first title game since 1989, tallied 18 of the game's final 22 goals after falling behind 4-1 after one quarter. Kyle Barrie and Bobby Benson scored four goals each for the Jays, while Kevin Boland registered a team-high four assists. Brian Nee tallied two goals for the Orange (10-6) in a losing effort, their first semifinal defeat since 1998.
