COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The University of Maryland football team will host its annual Terrapin Fan Day this Sunday, August 17, at Byrd Stadium. Gates will open to Byrd Stadium at 1:00 p.m.
The day will start with an autograph session with the team from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. underneath the upper deck on the North side of the stadium. The team will then practice in the stadium from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. with a scrimmage to take place towards the end of the session.
The first 2,000 fans to arrive at the event will get a Maryland football t-shirt while others can get their fill of Terp posters, stickers and schedule magnets. Other activities will include Pepsi interactive games, giveaways and prizes from 94.7 The Arrow (who will be on site also playing music) and a chance to meet NASCAR's Donnie Neuenberger of the Maryland Racing Team. Neuenberger will sign autographs and unveil the new Maryland Terrapins Matchbox car, modeled after the one he drives.
The Terps are just weeks away from their first game of 2003, a road contest at Northern Illinois on August 28. Season tickets still remain and fans can get more info by calling (301) 314-7070.
