The University of Maryland's 2003 football season opener on August 28 against MAC foe Northern Illinois will be featured
nationally on cable television -- shown live and on taped delay to
approximately 24 Fox Sports Net affiliates that reach an estimated
95,444,000 potential households across the country.
The Maryland-NIU tussle will be carried live locally by NewsChannel 8 in Washington, D.C., and CN8 in Baltimore. The game will also run tape delayed on Comcast SportsNet.

The Terrapins had eight games televised nationally a year ago and four others shown on a regional basis.
In other broadcast-related news, the Terps' game at Florida State on September 6th will air live on 98 ROCK (97.9 FM) rather than its usual spot on WBAL in Baltimore. The game will air on all of the other regular Terrapin Radio Network affiliates - including WMAL (630 AM) in Washington, D.C. - while being televised nationally by ESPN.
Kickoff for the game from Tallahassee is slated for 7:30 p.m. and the Terrapins will be seeking their first win in series history against the Seminoles.
