
Women's Basketball Receives Votes in Latest AP Poll

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's basketball team is making an amazing turnaround under the direction of second-year head coach Brenda Frese. The Terps earned 29 votes in this week's Associated Press Top 25 which was announced on Monday.
The Terps are 11-3 so far this season, eclipsing its win total of a year ago (10). Maryland is also 3-1 in ACC play, its best start in the conference since the 1991-92 season, and is one conference win away from matching its win total from last year.
Maryland has improved not just in the win column, but is also shooting better from the field, from three-point land and from the charity stripe. The Terps are the conference leader in three-point field goal percentage at .399 and from the charity stripe with a .745 percentage.
The Terps are currently tied for second in the ACC standings with No. 13 North Carolina. Maryland returns to face Georgia Tech on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m.
