
Keep Up with the Terps on National Signing Day Next Wednesday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Wednesday, February 4th, is football's National Signing Day and fans can take a first look at the newest Terrapins by joining head coach Ralph Friedgen at this year's "Recruiting Celebration" in the Stamp Student Union. For those who can't make it to campus, there will be several opportunities for fans to tune in and learn more about the 2004 Maryland recruiting class.
As in the past, this year's "Recruiting Celebration" will take place in the Grand Ballroom of the Stamp Union. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. with appetizers and a cash bar open to anyone in attendance. At 6:00 p.m., Coach Friedgen will formally announce the 2004 class to fans, showing highlight video of each of this year's signees. The event is free and open to all fans and parking will be available in Lot Z.
One other way fans can tune in to the "celebration" is to log on to FridgeTV.com (www.fridgetv.com), which will have a live webcast from the Union.
Also on Wednesday, the Terps will be represented well both on national and local television. From 4:00 - 5:00 p.m., ESPN and ESPNews will do a show hosted by Brian Kenny on National Signing Day and Friedgen will appear as a live guest at approximately 4:15 p.m. Other coaches who will appear on the show include Oklahoma's Bob Stoops and LSU's Nick Saban. Later in the day, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m., Comcast SportsNet will do a similar show with a local flair with both Friedgen and recruiting coordinator James Franklin appearing.
Finally, be sure to check back with UMTerps.com on National Signing Day for updates on each signee as their letters of intent are officially received in the Terp football office. "Signing Day Central" will post the bios of each recruit as their faxed come in while informing fans of the latest recruiting news.
