The Maryland men's cross country team finished in seventh place at the ACC Cross Country Championships for the second year in a row, this time in the ACC's expanded field of 11 teams. Adam Ambrus was the top Maryland runner, finishing in 30th place overall, as the team finished with 198 points - 151 points behind race-winner, No. 16 North Carolina State.
Pete Hess, a sixth-place finisher at last year's ACC Championships, finished 39th overall with a time of 26:19.7, while the trio of Florent Groberg (43rd place - 26:32.0), Matt Adami (44th place - 26:32.6) and Nathaniel Zola (46th place - 26:34.4) all posted top-50 individual performances.
NC State won its fourth-straight Atlantic Coast Conference cross country crown, as the Wolfpack recorded 47 points. NC State edged Florida State, who scored 48 points, by one point, the narrowest margin of victory in conference championship history. Virginia placed third with 85 points, while Clemson finished fourth with 87 points. Duke placed fifth with 99 points and was followed by Wake Forest (6th - 172), Maryland (7th - 198), Georgia Tech (8th - 227), Virginia Tech (9th - 249), North Carolina (10th - 295) and Miami (11th - 313).
Florida State's Andrew Lemoncello became the first Seminole to earn the title of ACC Individual Champion, having covered the 8K course in 24:29.6.
