
ACC Volleyball Tournament Bracket Announced

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The seventh-seeded Maryland volleyball team will begin defense of its ACC title when it takes on 10th-seeded Wake Forest in the first round of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 18, in Charlottesville, Va. The match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Maryland wrapped up its regular season at home this weekend, falling to Clemson and Georgia Tech. The Terrapins finished the regular season at 12-14, and 7-9 in the conference.
Maryland enters this year's tournament as defending champions, having won last year's title in Orlando, Fla. The title was the Terps' third - they also won conference crowns in 1990 and 1996.
Earlier this season, the Terrapins defeated Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, 3-1, but fell to the Demon Deacons in five games at Comcast Center Pavilion.
With a win, the Terps would face second-seeded Miami in the quarterfinal round on Friday, Nov. 19 at 5 p.m.
Georgia Tech earned the tournament's top seed after finishing conference play with a 16-0 record.
All matches will be played in Memorial Gym on the campus of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
