LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Junior Jason Kiessling and redshirt freshman Andrew Schlaffer each placed at the 2004 Mat Town Tournament held at Lock Haven, Pa., on Saturday. The Terps finished 13th with 23.5 points.

Seventh-ranked Minnesota won the tournament with 154 points, followed closely by Penn State with 146.5 points.

After losing his first round bout, Kiessling fought his way back in the 165 pound consolation bracket to finish fourth. He picked up two major decisions for the Terps before losing 9-5 to Robby Gosnell of Old Dominion in the match for third place.

Schlaffer, a 141-pounder, lost to eventual champion Ron Tarquinio of Pitt in the second round. Schlaffer then defeated Rider's Mike Palma 9-2 before losing a close 3-1 decision to Quincy Osborn of Minnesota. He was pinned in his next match to finish eighth.
