No. 22/23 Maryland vs. Loyola

Maryland improves to 12-3 all-time versus Loyola and has now won the last six games of the series.

The Terps have scored first in each of their five games this season.

The last time Maryland gave up 36 points in a contest was also versus Loyola when it defeated the Greyhounds 63-36 on December 10, 1996.

Maryland runs tonight: 10-0 (1st half, 14:43 - 11:21), 18-3 (1st half, 6:31 - 1:13), 20-1 (2nd half, 20:00 - 10:09).

Maryland's 16 steals were a season-high and the most since posting 18 versus Florida State on January 16, 2003.

Anesia Smith had a career-high four of the Terps' 16 steals.

No Maryland player played more than 25 minutes tonight. Only four times in the team's four wins this season has a Maryland player played at least 30 minutes.

Freshman Laura Harper scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the contest. By halftime, Harper had already topped her previous career-best (17 points - vs. LSU), scoring 18 points in the period.

Freshman Crystal Langhorne posted her first career double-double tonight, scoring 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting and grabbing a career-high 10 rebounds.

Maryland hasn't given up 30 points in the first half in any of its five games this season. And, until tonight, the team hadn't given up less than 35 points in any of its second halves. The Terps gave up just 12 second-half points to Loyola tonight.

Loyola's 12 second-half points were the fewest since giving up 12 to Wake Forest in a 57-46 win over on January 24, 2002.

Loyola's first field goal of the second half came with 9:51 into the period.

After combining to shoot just 47.6% (10-21) from the free throw line in their first three games, the freshman trio of Laura Harper, Crystal Langhorne and Jade Perry have shot a collective 84.6% (22-26) from the charity stripe in the last two games.

While Shay Doron's double-figure scoring streak was snapped at 10 games tonight, she also had a career-high tying five steals for the second time this season.
