COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland head coach Sasho Cirovski has announced the signing of Maurice (Mo) Edu to a National Letters of Intent to play soccer for the Terrapins beginning in the 2004-05 school year. Edu joins six other recruits who signed to play with Maryland earlier this month.

Edu is a 5-foot-11, 160-pound attacking midfielder from Fontana, Calif. He was a Region IV ODP starter in 2002 and 2003 and a member of the USYSA Inter-Regional All-Star team. Edu was also an adidas/ESP all-star in 2003. He was league MVP while playing at Etiwanda High and currently plays with the Mission Viejo Pateadoras, a powerful club team in southern California.

"Mo is a dynamic, attacking player who has the ability to change the game in an instant - a lot like Sumed Ibrahim," Cirovski says. "He is a very fluid player who moves effortlessly. The addition of Mo strengthens an already strong class, and he will fit in well with the rest of the team."
