GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland women's basketball players Shay Doron and Delvona Oliver were selected to the Atlantic Coast Conference's All-Tournament team for their performances in helping the Terps reach the conference tournament semifinals for the first time since 1998.
Recently named third-team all-conference, Doron (Great Neck, N.Y./Christ the King) was named first team All-ACC Tournament after averaging a team-high 17.5 points and 5.0 rebounds over two games. She led the team in scoring in the Terps' two tournament games, netting 16 in the decisive win over Florida State in the quarterfinals. She then scored 14 of a team-best 19 points in the first half of the semifinal matchup versus eventual champion Duke. The team's top free throw shooter, Doron also was 11-for-14 from the charity stripe.
Oliver (Euclid, Ohio/Euclid) earned her first-career ACC honor when she was named Honorable Mention All-ACC. She scored in double figures in Maryland's two ACC Tournament games, tallying 12 and 15 points against Florida State and Duke, respectively, while grabbing eight boards in each game.
Doron and Oliver's all-tournament honors are the first for the Terps since Deedee Warley earned second team honors in 2001. Doron is also the first Terp to be named to the first team since Jessie Hicks in 1993.
