COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Former University of Maryland standout Scott McBrien will be honored as the Local College Quarterback of the Year by the National Quarterback Club when the organization hosts its 19th annual awards dinner on June 29.
The event will be held at the JW Marriott on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.
McBrien led the Terps to back-to-back seasons with at least 10 wins and a pair of bowl victories during his two years as the starter in College Park. He signed as a free agent last spring with the Green Bay Packers.
McBrien's award is one of 10 awards to be given that evening. Also of note are Hall of Fame Awards being given to former NFL greats Roger Staubach and Archie Manning, an honor given to Peyton Manning as the NFL Quarterback of the Year and to Eli Manning of Ole Miss, who was the National College Quarterback of the Year.
NBC4 Sports Director George Michael will be the Master of Ceremonies for the dinner.
