Terps Release 2004-05 Schedule

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland head coach Pat Santoro today released the wrestling schedule for the 2004-05 regular season. The Terps return several starters in the lineup and have added a nationally-ranked recruiting class to help them tackle the schedule.
The Terrapins will open the season with several tournaments including the Body Bar Invitational at Cornell (Nov. 20), the Mat Town Invitational at Lock Haven (Nov. 27) and the Penn State Open (Dec. 5), before their first dual meet on Dec. 11 on the road against Rutgers and Rider. Maryland will then participate in the Southern Scuffle Tournament in Greensboro, N.C., on Dec. 28-29, before heading into the meat of its dual schedule. Highlighting the duals will be dates against nationally-ranked opponents including at Missouri on Jan. 2, at home against Navy on Jan. 13, and against Lehigh (the school in which Santoro served as an assistant) on Feb. 5 in Charlottesville, Va.
The ACC schedule will include a home date with defending champion NC State (Feb. 12) and runner-up Virginia (Feb. 19). The Terps will have road matches against Duke and North Carolina on Jan. 8 and against ACC newcomer Virginia Tech on Jan. 22.
