COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland men's soccer recruiting class for this fall is ranked fifth in the nation, according to CollegeSoccerNews.com. The Terps are one of six Atlantic Coast Conference schools who had their classes ranked among the top 10 in the nation.
Spencer Allen, Eric Brunner, Maurice Edu, Stephen King, Akihiro (Aki) Kadotani, Kevin Reiman, and Keith Vereb are set begin their careers at Maryland this fall. (Read the release of their signing here.)
The outlet described the seven-member class as "dynamic and highly touted," and says that although the Terps "can't fully replace the talent lost, they do come close." The outlet based its rankings on how well a school filled perceived needs, and how individual players fared in high school, club, ODP, regionally and internationally.
UCLA, the 2002 NCAA champion, garnered the nation's top class, followed by Duke, South Florida, North Carolina and Maryland. Wake Forest's class was tabbed sixth, ACC newcomer Virginia Tech's class was ranked eighth, and Clemson's eight-member class was ranked 10th.
