COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Single-game tickets are no longer available for three home games on the University of Maryland football schedule, athletics department officials announced today. Single-game allocations have been sold out for Terrapins' games against Georgia Tech (Oct. 9), NC State (Oct. 16) and Florida State (Oct. 30). The only available tickets for those three games would be for purchase as part of season-ticket packages, ticket office personnel said. Maryland is approaching the mark of 31,000 season tickets sold, which would be the most in school history. The Terps drew more than 50,000 to each of their six home games in 2003. "There is considerable excitement about this season, and the record levels of ticket sales reflect that momentum," said Michael Lipitz, senior associate athletics director. "Our fans have responded well to our new on-line ticket system, and the use of that service has exceeded our expectations so far." Maryland, which is 19-1 at home over the past three years, opens its 2004 home schedule on Saturday, Sept. 4 against Northern Illinois, which spent parts of the 2003 season in the national rankings. Kickoff against the Huskies is at 6 p.m. A limited number of single-game tickets are still available for the Terps' other three home games - the opener with Northern Illinois, a matchup with Temple on Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. and against Wake Forest on Nov. 27.
