COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland football games against Northern Illinois and Temple have reached sellout status, athletics department officials said today. The sellouts of the first two games, to be played on Sept. 4 and 11, brings to five the number of Maryland football games to sell out for the 2004 season. Maryland already announced sellouts for home games against Georgia Tech (Oct. 9), NC State (Oct. 16) and Florida State (Oct. 30). Fans still interested in purchasing Temple tickets should contact the Terrapin Ticket Office on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 7 to check the availability of any unclaimed student tickets. "To have five of our six home games sold out prior to the start of the season means a great deal to our football program," said head coach Ralph Friedgen. "We continue to be excited about the level to which our fans have responded to the success of our football team and our fans' continuing support." Single-game tickets are available only for Maryland's final home game of the year, against Wake Forest on Saturday, Nov. 27. In addition, Maryland will offer a special "Stuff the Byrd" package for the Thanksgiving-weekend game. Fans can receive four Wake Forest tickets, four hot dogs and four medium sodas for $40.
