Kiessling Named ACC Wrestler Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland wrestler Jason Kiessling was named ACC Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday after his performances at the Southern Scuffle in Greensboro, N.C., and in three dual matches. Kiessling shares the weekly honor with Evan Sola of North Carolina.
Kiessling finished third at 165 pounds at the Southern Scuffle, including a 3-2 upset decision over Chris Stith of Virginia Tech, ranked 18th nationally. The junior from LaPlata, Md., posted a 5-1 record and was the only Terrapin to place at the Southern Scuffle in Greensboro, N.C. Kiessling has placed in all four tournaments for the Terrapins this season.
At the Missouri Duals, Kiessling guided Maryland to a 2-1 record including a 12-0 major decision victory over Matt Oliva of Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
He has a 20-7 record on the season, including four major decisions.
The Terps will open ACC dual action on the road Saturday against North Carolina and Duke.
