Maryland Head Coach Missy Meharg
On team's third consecutive final four appearance:
"I'm so pleased for this team. We've talked about making it back to the final four for the past nine months and now we have a great opportunity to win a national championship."
On senior leadership:
"All six seniors on our team are amazing. Everyone from Emily Beach to Lauren Powley makes an impact on the game for us. The most amazing stat of the day was giving up just one penalty corner, and I think that comes from the leadership and maturity on our team. Our team knew that American was good at corners, and we wanted to limit their opportunities. We were able to do that today and a lot of that comes from our seniors."
On today's game:
"Our focus today wasn't on who we were playing. All year, we've been able to stay focused on our goals, which helps us to keep momentum. Our team seems to thrive on challenges and adversity. Somehow, we seem to be able to make those things fun. All year this team has made sacrifices in order to become champions. They let me know what they need and as a coaching staff, we try to give it to them."
Terps' Midfielder Lauren Powley
On team's confidence:
"Playing with our team gives me a lot of confidence. I know when our coaches give us a plan, we will stick with it. I know my teammates will work hard and do their jobs and that is what gives me confidence."
American University Head Coach Steve Jennings
On today's game:
"We played a hard game and I'm really proud of our kids for their effort today and the entire season. Credit goes to Maryland for playing a great game. Their defense was all over today, but we need to get better at drawing corners. As a team, we are really close to getting where we want to be. Now, we just have to get back to work for next season."
Eagles' Forward Camila Infante
On team's play:
"We did our job. We tried to play hard and move the ball, and I think we did that today. I'm happy with the way we played, even though we lost."
On sister and Terp midfielder Paula Infante:
"I told her good luck. I'm proud of her and glad that one of us will be at the final four. We're sisters no matter who wins the game and I hope Maryland does well next week."
Eagles' Goalie Allison Fayfich
On Maryland's play:
"They're very aggressive offensively and defensively. They have nice touches all over the field, which is what lead to their goals. We've probably had tougher games, but not many teams had so many opportunities against us."
