Nov. 20, 2005

Recap |  Box Score |  Quotes |  Photo Gallery

• Maryland junior guard Shay Doron reached the 1,000 point plateau with her tenth point of the game. She is the 21st Maryland player to achieve that mark, the first since Renneika Razor, who played from 2000-2003. She is also the quickest to 1,000 points in Maryland history, doing so in just 64 games. Deanna Tate was the previous record holder, doing it in 68 games.

• For the second straight game, Doron scored 23 points. This marked the 20th time in her career that she reached the 20-point plateau.

• Freshman guard Kristi Toliver made her Comcast Center debut starting at the point guard position. She finished with 16 points and 7 assists to go along with 5 rebounds in 29 minutes.

• Freshman Marissa Coleman also made an immediate impact in her Comcast Center debut with 14 points and 6 rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench.

• The Terps' 93-68 victory marked the second straight game in which every Terp that suited up scored.

• Four Terrapins scored in double figures. Doron's 23 led all scorers. In addition to Toliver's 16 and Coleman's 14, sophomore Crystal Langhorne contributed 13 points.

• Sophomore Laura Harper tied a career high with 3 blocks. She last set this mark against Pennsylvania on November 27, 2005. Harper also poured in 9 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.

• The Terrapins improved to 30-5 all-time in home openers. They have won 7 straight.

• The Terps topped the 90 point plateau for the second straight game. They opened the season with a 107-66 victory at Siena. This marks the first time the Terps have scored 90 or more points in back-to-back games since November 28-29, 2003 when they defeated Sacred Heart 90-49 and Md.-Eastern Shore 97-65.

• Maryland will next be in action on Thanksgiving Day, when they take on Gonzaga in the first round of the Paradise Jam tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Terps will also play national powerhouses Michigan State and Tennessee before returning to Comcast Center on December 1 against Appalachian State.
