Dec. 22, 2005

College Park, Md. - Coming off its second straight ACC championship and an appearance in the 2005 Final Four, the Maryland men's lacrosse team is ranked No. 4 in the Preseason Lacrosse magazine. The rankings were compiled by Lacrosse magazine staff with consultations from coaches and other members of the press.

Maryland, which went 11-6 last season, was ranked No. 5 in each of the last three preseason polls. Eight opponents on the Terps' 2006 schedule are ranked among the Top 20.

The Terrapins will take on five of the top eight teams: visting No. 1 Duke (March 4), No. 2 Johns Hopkins (April 15) and No. 8 Georgetown (February 25), and hosting No. 3 Virginia (April 1) and No. 7 Navy (April 7).

Maryland, which returns six All-Americans among its nine returning starters, will be led by 2006 U.S. National Team attackman Joe Walters and 2005 first team All-America midfielder Bill McGlone (Midfield).
